Godly education keeping us from the brink

THE EDITOR:

The Letter of the Day ('Remove worship, prayer from public schools', September 11, 2015) by Dr Ricardo McKenzie must be congratulated. He has brought Christianity back into prominent media focus via his questioning of the validity of such in public schools.

The big difference between Jamaica and the United States is hindsight rather than foresight. Consequently, here, in a society of 320 million people, a burglary occurs every 15 seconds and more than six million children are sexually violated annually. Jamaica's crime rate is high, but at least there is still Christian religious education in schools where, thank God, there is still restraint against even worse happenings. History is a great teacher.
