Blackout for children's rights

Published:Wednesday | September 23, 2015 | 12:00 AM

The National Police Youth Club Council, with tremendous support from the Community Safety and Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse branches of the Jamaica Constabulary Force will be staging a social media 'profile photo blackout' from September 25-29.

The main objective of this undertaking is to advocate for victims of crime, to encourage initiatives for peace, and raise awareness on the impact of serious wrongdoing on our society.

When I first heard of the project, hesitation about participation was immediately expelled from my vocabulary. I encourage all to join in the fight against child abuse and other acts of violence.
