Thanking unsung hospital heroes
THE EDITOR, Sir:
About 10 o'clock Saturday night, my brother and his family were on their way home when, just after exiting the toll road heading towards May Pen, my teenage nephew started having difficulty breathing.
They turned off the route and went to May Pen Hospital. On their arrival, they were greeted by a friendly and helpful staff and my nephew was seen very quickly and assessed by the doctor and the team.
It was a very frightening experience for the family and the professionalism and attentiveness of the staff was very reassuring. Thankfully, my nephew has now recovered. My nephew has some medical issues which have necessitated his admittance to the Bustamante and Mandeville hospitals on several occasions, and on each occasion, the experience has been positive.
We would like to thank the unsung heroes - the doctors, nurses and ancillary staff at these and all other health facilities who continue to work selflessly, day in and day out, to ensure our well-being.
