Near Mona Dam but starved of water

Published:Monday | December 7, 2015 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I am writing this to you in the hope that The Gleaner will investigate this.

I live in Mona - on Anthurium Drive. We (Mona area) have had horrific water lock-offs for most of this year because of the general drought.

I am currently apartment hunting with the intention of moving before Christmas because of the water woes.

Well, it is now December. The dry summer season has ended, and we have been having rainfall almost daily.

The Mona dam is now full! I have been told that it is overflowing! Great! What terrific news!

However, though I and others live within a couple hundred yards of this overflowing dam, we are still having lock-offs! Why? Yes, I am writing this at 2:15 a.m. Saturday - and there is no water in the pipes here! A disgrace! I am also tired of going to shower, and the minute I am lathered in soap, the water goes.
