Pray that Jamaica makes the right decisions

The Editor, Sir:

As I reflect on the mercy, kindness and love of God, with heartfelt gratitude, I must give thanks to God, who has graciously and abundantly poured out His love towards us. The year 2015 has had its ups and downs and its challenges, but through it all, I know that if God was not in the midst, I could not have made it.

Our country is at a crossroads: A time of decision-making. It is crucial that Jamaicans make the right decisions. I am asking my fellow Jamaicans to help me pray that we make the right decisions. The good book says: "A nation without God's guidance is a nation without order. Happy are those who keep God's law." (Proverbs 29:18). We must beg God for guidance because without it we are going to perish.

We are in a spiritual warfare, whether we understand it or not. We must be sensitive to what has been happening in our world. Jeremiah 21: 8 states: "Then, the Lord told me to say to the people, 'Listen, I the Lord am giving you a choice between the way that leads to life and the way that leads to death.'" We must stand firm and strong against any evil influence that wants to control and to put us in Satanic bondage then destroy our people.

We will, by the help of the Almighty God, say a resounding 'NO' to any evil influence and declare that Jamaica belongs to God. May the peace and mercy and love of God continue to rest upon Jamaica, land we love. May the love of God be with us all.
