Stop bigotry against gays
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Frequently, we pride ourselves as a nation of Christians, yet our utterances portray us as people without tolerance for values such as inclusiveness. This behaviour is a subtle way to keep the buggery law.
Our society's bigoted stance on non-traditional sexual orientation should be closeted. I am really sickened by the homophobic utterances and pronouncements of lay and ordained religious Christian 'extremists' speaking on the radio, JUTC buses and television.
Frankly, in most cases, such utterances closely border on Hitler-esque tactics,
As such, preachers try to win converts by demonising people of unconventional sexual orientation.
