Swing with your minds, swing voters
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I read recently in a newspaper that the number of swing voters is on the increase. I am happy to hear this. I ask just one thing, though: that swinging is done not emotionally, but rationally.
No more diehards, but swinging also not for handouts, or out of emotion, but swinging because of actions taken to see that our social environment enables one to develop oneself into an independent person.
I buy my curry goat when I need it, and have it not just at election time, but maybe twice or even three times between one election and the other. So, check out these representatives and the party that puts them forward to see what they are really - persons of integrity who have good ideas that enable them put forward and develop good policies that will determine how one goes about getting for oneself the curry goat or Red Stripe beer when one wishes it most!
Let ideas about how the nation is developed contend and may they influence how one swings. Swing rationally, swing! Swinging is good!
