Forget sugar. It's cotton time now!

I read Thursday's letter of the day 'The death of King Sugar' and my thoughts concerning this matter is, so let it be. Let us move on, having learnt from the past. Let us move to plant sea island cotton on the land where we in the past planted sugar. Let us also process the cotton here, then start making clothes to be sold all over the world.

Think of us having our beautiful women modelling these clothes. Let us aim to make ourselves the centre - a well recognised centre of fashion for the world.

This would create jobs and earn us foreign exchange in a sustainable manner.

So, let us replace King sugar with Queen cotton as soon as possible.
