Portia is weak link in PNP

THE EDITOR, Sir:

On the front page of The Sunday Gleaner of March 13, 2016, the story titled 'Who betrayed Portia?' caught my interest. However, I believe that no one betrayed Portia but herself.

I love Portia and am a fan of hers. But I must call a spade a spade. Whenever Portia speaks during newscasts, I mute my television. Remember that this is a woman I once supported and loved, but she doesn't seem to complete a sentence. She pronounces her country incorrectly and misplaces emphases on words.

What also disturbs me is that whenever there is a retreat or a Cabinet meeting, I suspect that she is the one who chairs the meetings. However, when she faces the media, she tells journalists that she defers to portfolio ministers. This is weakness, Sista P. You should be able to give a brief post-Cabinet interview.

She cannot give any details on the economy. That's really very bad. Out of respect for the party, Portia Simpson Miller should resign. She is the weak link in the party.
