Can't get job experience if starved of work

Published:Friday | April 1, 2016 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I have recently completed my four years of study at a post-secondary institution. I have applied for hundreds of jobs for the last 10 months and have attended quite a few interviews in the last month. However, I have been told that I lack experience. But how am I to gain experience when no one wants to hire me in order for me to gain the experience needed?

Because of this, I am still unemployed and have a student loan to repay. I think companies should implement a fair policy and give jobs and training to individuals who are leaving college and university inexperienced. Also, schools need to place greater effort in trying to assist their graduates in gaining employment and internship.
