Excuses already, Minister Shaw?

Published:Friday | April 1, 2016 | 4:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

It is short-sighted and unrealistic to think we, the younger generation, and the people of Jamaica would not retaliate to any unfulfilled pre-election promise. Why would Mr Shaw think that there was money allotted from the past government that would finance such an intricate project such as his $1.5-million income-tax relief without being absolutely sure of its availability?

The younger generation will not give second chances. We are unforgiving and we never forget. We will hold each and everyone of our leaders accountable for their actions. We should vividly remember the now Opposition lost its bid to continue as the Government for multiple reasons, including playing the blame game.

We, the people of Jamaica, do not want to hear excuses about who caused what. This is why persons did not and will not vote, they have no confidence our politicians.

We are tired of being taken advantage of for votes. Prime Minister Andrew Holness. Where do you plan to get the money to fund your tax plan?
