Hyman should quit EPOC

Published:Monday | April 4, 2016 | 4:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

There has been discussion on some radio discussion programmes on the need for financial analyst Ralston Hyman to resign from the Economic Programme Oversight Committee (EPOC) because of his utterances in support of the People's National Party before the last general election.

Robert Dalley wrote a timely letter calling on Hyman to resign or be replaced. Mr Dalley is correct. Hyman should go now.

EPOC's credibility is at stake here. Hyman has made no secret before the election that he wholeheartedly supported the economic policy direction of the PNP. That makes him ineligible to sit on EPOC.

Hyman's economic views are tainted. He seems to find pleasure in seeking to tear down the policies of the JLP and Audley Shaw.

Ralston Hyman is carrying too much political baggage to remain a member of EPOC.
