THE EDITOR, Sir:

On behalf of the Jamaica Agricultural Society (JAS) and our more than 220,000 farmers in Jamaica, the Caribbean Farmers Network and our more than 500,000 farmers in 14 countries in the Caribbean, I congratulate our three West Indies cricket teams, U-19, senior women and senior men, for winning the T20 World Cup.

The farmers of Jamaica and the region share in this tremendous triumph for our regional cricket teams and sincerely hope that it will be a catalyst not only for the rebuilding of cricket in all formats of the game in the region but for Caribbean unity and trade.

We would wish to commend the teams' captains and members, coaching staff, selectors and the cricket board. They all made us proud.

Let's find out what were the other contributing factors in additional to the great food grown and produced in the region. The JAS's 'Grow What We Eat' campaign has helped to saved the Jamaican economy more than US$500 million since the campaign was launched in 2003.
