Be quick to forgive, slow to judge
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I must say kudos to the writer of the letter titled 'No one is irredeemable in the eyes of Jesus' published in The Gleaner of Thursday, May 26.
A well-penned letter, it should be noted for its facts about Jesus' personality and character. He condemns no one. Let us not be judgemental and condemnatory.
Jesus was, and will always be, forgiving, regardless of where you might have been. In the Scriptures, the woman caught in the act of adultery was brought before Jesus, but before he could respond to their accusations of the woman, he bent down to scribble on the ground (whatever that meant) but, upon getting up, he realised her accusers had all disappeared.
As a people preaching repentance, why do we find it so difficult to accept? "If ye forgive men their trespasses, how much more will your heavenly Father forgive you."
