Portia must come clean on assets, Trafigura

The National Democratic Movement (NDM) commends Prime Minister Andrew Holness for publishing his financial assets from before he became a minister to date. All ministers should do the same.

We also commend former Minister Julian Robinson for publishing his financial assets.

We call on the leader of the Opposition to declare her assets and those of all her former ministers. We observe former Minister Damion Crawford building his own big house and call for his assets to be published also.

The NDM is very concerned that the People's National Party and, in particular, former Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller continue to hide behind legal gymnastics and unnecessary public privileges to claim special court treatment because of her former status, in her dealings with the Trafigura Affair. Innocence needs no hiding place.

The NDM now makes another call on Prime Minister Holness to immediately bring his St Lucia-based company back to Jamaica and pay all Jamaican taxes and fees, as all other patriotic Jamaicans citizens have to do.
