Petrojam keeping swimming afloat

Published:Saturday | June 25, 2016 | 12:00 AM

This letter serves to acknowledge and show appreciation to Petrojam Limited for its significant and continued contribution to the development of swimming in Jamaica.

Thanks for coming on board, especially at this time when swimmers, who have worked hard and subsequently qualified to represent Jamaica at the Caribbean Islands Swimming Championships 2016, were finding it difficult to fund their participation at this championship, some of whom recently and proudly represented Jamaica at the 2016 Carifta Swimming Championships held in March.

I want to also commend Petrojam for partnering with, and supporting, Swim Jamaica in its campaign to get Jamaica swimming. Like you, I believe that there are young swimming talents out there in Jamaica that needs to be nurtured.

I am sure this sponsorship is also welcomed by the Amateur Swimming Association of Jamaica (ASAJ) which, from all appearances, is fielding its largest contingent this year, having participated on many occasions at this championship over the last 30 years.

I wish to also take this opportunity to commend ASAJ for its commitment to developing and promoting swimming in Jamaica.

Again, my heartfelt thank you to Petrojam Limited for demonstrating good corporate social responsibility, and for contributing to swimming in Jamaica.
