Good riddance to Britain
THE EDITOR, Sir:
The United Kingdom was never compliant on the usage of the euro. The UK wanted to be given privileged status above all the other members in the European Union, many times suggesting that it was the country shoring up and giving the EU prestige.
As far as I am concerned, this exit was in the making for a long time, but like most marriages, the end was made known to everyone when it was announced in the divorce court. This episode will spell the end of the UK as a powerhouse in Europe and world affairs and the last of their colonial prestige.
Good riddance, I say, but they have to pay reparations!
