Take back Ja from criminals

Published:Thursday | July 7, 2016 | 7:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Crime in the western section of Jamaica can be controlled by putting more police and military personnel on the streets to bring the situation under control, so that Jamaica can be an island for fun vacations.

CCTV cameras are needed around the island to let the security forces pick up criminal activities on the nation's streets, so that Jamaica can be crime free.

The government must call out the military to let both law-abiding citizens and the notorious criminals see their presence on the streets. They should be given the power to search anyone, they see doing suspicious activities anywhere.

The security forces must take back Jamaica from the criminals. The police must have a personal relationship with the citizens so that crime fighting can be a unified effort.

May God bless and protect Jamaica, land we love. As a member of the Anglican Church of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, I am calling on all churches to pray for this our island home, Jamaica.
