No sympathy for slain lotto scammers

The people of the parish of St James have decided to take up a lifestyle that can only lead to death - that of a sickening craving after money. For money is the root of all evil.

If, as the police have said, the lottery scam is behind most murders in St James, I have no sympathy at all for the hell they are undergoing.

Let the hotels, car dealers, and other businesses in Montego Bay that have benefited indirectly from lottery scamming form a partnership for social intervention in the depressed communities of the city.

Marlene Malahoo Forte has come back in full flight 'bestriding the narrow world like a Colossus', hoping that we 'petty men will find ourselves dishonourable graves'. We are not ready to whittle away our freedoms to save Montego Bay. I hope all right-thinking politicians will stand with the Jamaican people.

Montegonians have for decades lived with the sword of Damocles over their heads. Only MoBay can save itself. Is there no Daniel, Abraham, Job, or Noah within its walls? Are there not 10 righteous persons?

If the people do not decide to change sooner than later, woe will hurl them out where the dark waves flow.
