Yes to repeal, no to referendum

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Does it make sense to send consenting male adults, acting in private, to prison where homosexuality is universally practised. Many decades ago, Britain made consenting male adults acting in private lawful, and many other countries have done the same. I think Jamaica should follow - and without any referendum, because most Jamaicans are homophobic and so they would vote against the change in the law.
