Wake up, Racing Commission!
There has been a plethora of disqualifications of winners at Caymanas Park in recent months, going as far back as the unprecedented double disqualification of first and second past the post in the June 25 Cal's Jamaica Derby.
Indeed, just this past Wednesday, two winners were disqualified on the 10-race card.
To date, there has been no word from the Racing Commission regarding disciplinary actions taken against the jockeys involved.
In times gone by, the public would be informed if the offending riders were suspended or fined.
How can it be that these riders, deemed guilty by the stewards, continue to ride and earn, while the punters, the lifeblood of the industry, suffer with no redress?
Come on, Racing Commission, awaken from your slumber!
