Hold off hero status for Bolt

I disagree with the calls for Usain Bolt to be made a national hero and for the National Stadium to be renamed in his honour.

I would prefer that a state-of-the-art complex, named after Bolt, be established at the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium. Athletes from all over the world would go there to train and to enjoy other cultural activities.

It is too early to make Bolt a national hero? Why not suggest to the Queen to confer on him knighthood? Later, hero status could be considered.

Let us praise Bolt for his exploits but be moderate with our applause. I have read Dr Hume Johnson's column of August 22, 2016, and consider it quite good. Call him legend, icon, whatever, but hold off making him a national hero.
