Dominic Alessandro James: ‘Shades of Blue Brilliance’

Published:Monday | September 26, 2016 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Talent, brilliance and humility personified. From a very tender age, 'Delly' (26/09/1997- 20/09/2016), as he was affectionately known, portrayed signs of inevitable greatness. A leader, a captain in all spheres of life, his influence never wavered but stood as a living example for all to emulate.

The slender, soft-spoken fellow with the biggest, loudest smile of all, a frown never seemed among his multiple choices.

A football prodigy with pace, precision and presence to spare, he led the two 'winningest' schoolboy football entities to glory at intervals in his illustrious 18-plus years.

Academically, he was just as equipped to tackle subject areas without relent. As a son, a friend, he is adored beyond measure, missed beyond belief, cherished more than words can or will ever tell.

On Friday, September 26, 1997, you entered as a promise and on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, six days shy of a milestone, you exited as promised fulfilled. Be it 189 Old Hope Road or North Street, Kingston, Dominic's legacy of blue lives on. Happy belated birthday, Delly, you continue to smile on us.
