No proof Mais shot with Glock

In response to Orville Taylor's column 'Why the X6 case crashed' (Sunday Gleaner, October 30, 2016), there is no evidence that the fatal bullet was fired from a Glock, because there is no gun barrel to match the markings of the rifling and spiral groove that would be found on the bullet.

We know the absolved accused, Patrick Powell, owns a Glock, but for all we know, the bullet could have come from a Beretta, Sig or HK, and the barrel of Glocks are interchangeable.

It would be interesting to note if, after the police requested the Firearm Licensing Authority to revoke the permit, Powell's gun continued to be licensed for that length of time or the permit expires or revoked, in which case he would be in possession of an illegal firearm.
