Ditch PNP head
THE EDITOR, Sir:
The People's National Party lost the local government elections because its supporters seek to silently scream the need for a new party president.
Portia Simpson-Miller is an excellent politician. She is for the people, and I commend her in that regard. She is, however, a terrible leader.
Her language and decorum are absolutely unacceptable. Madam Party President is nothing short of a ticking time bomb. We the supporters have been through enough embarrassment with her. She has done her time.
People in the party have become so afraid to voice their opinions, afraid to speak out. Jamaica has become a country of sickening crime and violence simply because of people bullying each other to keep quiet, which goes hand in hand with the 'informa fi dead' mentality. Now if a fellow Comrade thought it was okay to immediately bash me for my opinion, why then wouldn't it be okay for a man with a gun to shoot me for speaking about something I may have seen?
Now if a child fails at his/her goal, his/her parents are held accountable. If a company fails, its CEO and management team are held accountable. If a team of football players fail, their coach is held accountable.
If a student fails, the teacher is held accountable. Why then isn't Mrs Simpson Miller held accountable for the downfall of the PNP?
How many times will we hang our heads in shame after she humiliates us with her lack of knowledge?
It is true that a lot of weeding out needs to be done within the party.
My party needs to be torn apart and put back together. But we need to start at the head.
