Why Bunting should ‘test’

Published:Monday | December 19, 2016 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I feel compelled to respond to the article by Ian Boyne, 'Why Bunting couldn't test'. I think this is a classic case of Boyne simply playing the results. Let's say Mr Bunting is such a genius to withdraw from the race, what does that say about him making his decision public to enter the race in the first place?

Indecision is always an indication of bad/weak political leadership.

It is my humble opinion that once you've stepped forward you have got to proceed, because backing down could have bigger negative implications for his future rather than giving himself and his party an option, even if he should end up losing to Phillips.

Now Bunting is stuck with 'waiting his turn' as have benefited many before him, but he might not be as lucky. I think he has done himself and the PNP a disservice.
