Working for a happy new year
THE EDITOR, Sir:
We are about to enter a brand-new year. I want to take this opportunity to urge all my fellow Jamaicans to use this as a starting point to a new way of life. If we decide that this will be the year we start being kinder to each other in any way possible, we will be better off as a nation.
We do not have many big problems here in Jamaica. Compared with some other places in the world, we are doing very well. Let us show our gratitude by living well with each other. Let us be slower to anger. That's all we really need. If each of us decides that this year we will improve the way in which we relate to others, then before you know it the nation will change. It may seem small, but it is not. Let us not only wish for a happy new year, let us make the pledge to make it so.
