Leave her alone

THE EDITOR, Sir:

It is quite interesting that in this country, nameless individuals on social media can wield unlimited power. However, despite their clamouring for Heather Murray to resign, she did nothing wrong. Mrs Murray was providing her friend with moral support by attending the trial of the Moravian pastor. It does not matter that she is the principal of an all-female school and that he is being accused of having inappropriate relations with a minor. Her presence at his trial does not constitute support for his actions. Furthermore, the minister is innocent until proven guilty, so we should not be quick to judge. The actions of Mrs Murray have nothing do with the school she manages, therefore she does not owe anyone an explanation.

Furthermore, the board of Hampton should not even be discussing the matter, because Mrs Murray did nothing wrong. It is unfortunate that Jamaica is becoming an idle, politically correct country, like America. However, this is what happens when so many people have nothing do, hence idling on social media becomes their new source of employment.
