THE EDITOR, Sir:
Outgoing United States President Barack Obama has nearly ended his tour of duty. In my opinion, he got some things right, and others not so right.
He will be remembered primarily by me for a few things: his first and second inaugural speeches; the memorial service of the murdered nine where he sang Amazing Grace; and his farewell speech.
The common thread in most of his presentations is his wish to put country, respect for others and equality for all above all other considerations.
If more citizens of the world strive to embrace and live these values, then our social, political, economic and judicial systems would be greatly improved. Of course, following the dictate of Jesus Christ which states 'love thy brother as thyself' will allow everything to fall right in place.
Farewell, Obama and family. You held yourselves to a high standard. President Obama and First lady Michelle Obama, yours is a story of true love and great family life.
Bravo, Barack! The tears you shed speaking of Michelle's love and support in your final speech cemented your place in the hearts of women.
