Church will survive sex scandal
THE EDITOR, Sir:
The Church was started on the day of Pentecost with a mighty rushing wind. When the people heard the utterances, it brought much astonishment, as they heard them all speak in other languages to which they were not familiar. There and then, it caused the crowd to question as to whether they were drunk.
So from the beginning of the Church, there were questions about the character of those who comprise the movement. More than 2,000 years later, we are still in the same position. Therefore, even though there is a microscopic case concerning a Moravian minister who is alleged to have been caught in a compromising position with a minor, the Church will survive.
The Church was built on a rock, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. So even if persons who say they are members fail or fall, the Church will still stand forever.
It will continue to be a place of redemption for all who seek counsel. The Church will continue to say that even though you fall, you can get up again. You can finish the race if you are willing to be transformed by renewing your mind.
