Abrahams' life was inspiring
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I understood the late Peter Abrahams well, for his thoughts were honest, without prejudice and for the good of humanity. I embraced his intellect, for it was erudite, eclectic and beyond the geographical confines of generations. I saw his vision, for it was the beacon of light and enlightenment for earth's peoples.
The journals will miss his advocacy on life - political, economic, cultural and social. The body politic will mourn the loss of a physician whose words probed the entrails of who we are and what we can become.
Peter Abrahams was that man! His physical time is now spent on earth, and the ink he shared generously with many has dried. But his immortal spirit roams freely on the pages of our minds, and his soul, though at rest, has awakened in us life, and life inspiring.
