No results from prayer breakfast
THE EDITOR, Sir:
As Jamaica's leaders gather each year at the National Leadership Prayer Breakfast, one cannot help but ask how effective this function is.
We must carefully examine this as a nation, especially those who participate in and plan the event. The Bible said that signs shall follow them that believe. Yet, at the prayer breakfast, there is no divine revelation and manifestation. No one confesses or surrenders to God. No one is healed. No one who is oppressed is delivered. Nothing specific is revealed or discerned through the holy spirit as to the way forward to solve a specific problem in the nation.
So when the prayer breakfast is held, are we seriously trying to touch or seek God? Or are we just socialising or gathering to encourage national leaders?
Scripture says that the fervent prayer of the righteous man availeth much. Therefore, we should be seeing results.
