Lindy bio may inspire youths
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I am impressed with the tributes that continue to make the news for the late Lindbergh (Lindy) Delapenha.
Some time ago, I saw Lindy at the Constant Spring Golf Club and asked if anyone had done his biography. Of course, we all know the answer to that.
It occurred to me then, and more so now, that here was an opportunity for the country to make available to all the schools throughout the island the work of this giant sportsman with the view of having our young boys endeavour to emulate this outstanding individual.
Whereas the country is trying to find answers to the ever-increasing problem of crime and violence, perhaps the exposure of the performance of this legendary Jamaican may help to encourage future young men to extend their energy in sports rather than in crime.
It is my hope that someone somewhere will be able to publish comprehensive details of the remarkable life of Lindy Delapenha.
