Cops' battered spouses suffer in silence
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I am not surprised by these recent stories in The Gleaner about domestic abuse.
I was in an abusive relationship with a policeman for many years, which today still affects me and my son. The worst part is the impact it has on our son. There is no support from the police force.
There are a lot of women who are in abusive relationships with policemen, but who can you turn to? No one, so we continue to suffer in silence.
