Calabar hype overdone

THE EDITOR, Sir:

While it is true that Calabar has won Boys' Champs for six straight years, this is a path already trod by Kingston College. Six straight titles is nothing new to the famed Purples. In fact, in recent times, KC has won from 2001-2006.

The overzealous hype surrounding the Calabar team is unnecessary as Kingston College has already accomplished this achievement. For 14 years straight (1962-1975), Kingston College reigned supreme by virtue of attaining first place in Boys' Champs.

All in all, KC had a pretty good championship, but injuries served to significantly affect the progress of the team. Coach Neil Harrison has been doing a great job, and I am confident that with the never-yielding spirit of Kingston College, they will return to win Champs in 2018.
