Proud of Calabar's achievement

I must congratulate Calabar High School on a well-deserved victory in the 2017 ISSA-GraceKennedy Boys' Athletics Championships. I feel especially proud as a Calabar old boy. This was an outstanding feat, and this year, the victory was especially sweet, winning by just a few points in a hard-fought Championships.

I congratulate Kingston College on finishing second, achieving more than 300 points, which is also outstanding. This is by no means anything to be ashamed of. Congrats also to the 2017 girls champions, Edwin Allen, who won the title for the fourth year in a row.

A big shout-out to the fantastic four from Calabar - Dejour Russell, Tyreke Wilson, Michael Stephens, and, of course, Christopher Taylor - outstanding athletes who helped to seal the deal. You've made the Calabar alumni and school community and supporters very proud.

To Calabar's coaches, team managers, sponsors; to the principal, teachers and students; to the supporters and fans, we share your pride and salute you as we celebrate, once again, the school's motto,'The Utmost for the Highest'.
