Could Jesus bring Peter, Andrew together again?

Published:Friday | May 5, 2017 | 5:19 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I hope that the relationship between Andrew Holness and Peter Phillips, the leaders of our two major political parties, the Jamaica Labour Party and the Peoples National Party, respectively, and their followers, will improve significantly.

I have observed from the Gospels (for example, St John 1:35-42) that:

1 Andrew and Peter were disciples of Jesus.

2 Andrew and Peter were brothers.

3 When Andrew started to follow Jesus, the first thing he did was to find his brother Simon (Peter) and inform him that he had found the Messiah and brought him to Jesus.

There are those who may regard this as total nonsense, but it is worth some consideration. I am wondering if this is a sign that we are going to see a better relationship between the leadership and members of our political parties. This would be good for Jamaica.
