Golden Spring roads in scandalous disrepair
THE EDITOR, Sir:
The roads in the Golden Spring community are in a deplorable state due solely to a sustained lack of maintenance over many years.
Recently, some residents from the community went to the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) to protest the state of the roads.
We were met by Town Clerk Robert Hill and City Engineer Norman Shand in March, and we left with the assurance that communication would be sent to us.
In a telephone follow-up, the town clerk's secretary advised again that communication would be sent to us.
Frustrated by a never-ending wait, we wrote to Prime Minister Andrew Holness, whose personal assistant Kimberley McLeod advised this writer on Monday, May 8, that she would bring the matter to his attention.
We want Ms McLeod to know that we have confidence in her and hope that her office, in collaboration with the KSAMC, may give us drivable roads which is our just due.
