Christians have missed their mission

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Jamaican people, when are we going to stand up against crime and violence, homelessness, poverty and unfairness? How it is that our Government can find lands to give away to the Chinese, yet a lot of Jamaicans are homeless right now?

Furthermore, for a small island like Jamaica, we should not be so poor and violent as we are. For a country with so many churches and scores of denominations, the crime level is too high! Are the churches just playing church? My God, the Devil is roaming like a lion through our men, young and old alike, as well as killing women and children every day, while the Christians just sit down with their mouths closed!

I am convinced that Christians in Jamaica have lost their true purpose, which is to be the salt of the earth. Christians, wake up! Remember you were elected as God's servants to pray and fast.
