Treat us royally at toll booths

Published:Saturday | May 13, 2017 | 5:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I am so annoyed at people like Lester Gayle ('Methinks Lisa loves the video light too much', Gleaner, May 10, 2017) who just politicise everything. The toll issue is something serious and needs to be looked into, whether by this Jamaica Labour Party administration or that it should have been looked into under the previous People's National Party administration, it needs to be fixed.

I deserve to be treated like royalty, Mr Gayle; I am sorry that you think we must be treated ordinarily.

Exactly what does that mean, by the way? Is it that we must accept any crap that whichever administration is in place throws at us because, as you say, "We are ordinary, poor, black Jamaicans." Seriously!

You sound like the old 'backra master' from slavery days. How dare us to deserve and demand better service!

Lisa Hanna, thank you for trying to have this ancient cash-only matter addressed, because I, too, travelled on that highway and had the same issue. The good thing for me is that I had someone else in the car who assisted me with the additional change I needed.
