Police must swarm major crime hot spots
THE EDITOR, Sir,
I'm realising an increase in the murder figures, and as a citizen and pedestrian of this country, I feel uncomfortable and unsafe.
Does the Jamaica Constabulary Force or the Ministry of National Security have anything in its work plan? I'd like to know. Is it that the whole force - including administration - is neglectful in its duties?
I notice that the police respond faster to road traffic offences than to shootings and other serious crimes. Last week, in Half-Way Tree, police personnel were at every corner, in bundles, and my friend turned to me and said, "If so much officer deh yasso, how it guh if shooting a gwaan somewhere else?"
I'd like to see better work from our police force. It needs much improvement.
