New CVM newscast cure for insomnia
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I am a bit of an insomniac, who has recently discovered a potent, fast-acting remedy for my condition: CVM Television's reformatted evening newscast, CVM Live.
Never mind that the programme's conceptualisers couldn't make up their minds what kind of show they wanted to produce - a light morning magazine, a news bulletin, or a discussion slot - so ended with a mishmash of nothingness. But worse, they have caught the viewers in a pincer movement of the two most boring presenters on television anywhere: Richard Chen and Pauline Milwood.
I never thought it could come to this when I used to complain about the poor quality of the old CVM newscast; of its need of editing; its lack of depth and context and the inadequacies of its presenters. Oh, how I would welcome Kerlyn Brown and the others of that bad lot.
