Let Chinese fix Mannings Hill Road trench
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Quite apart from their investments in Jamaica, the Chinese have a massive contribution to make to this island in terms of quiet civility, efficiency, discipline, and competence.
Look at the difference between the roadwork constructed by them in comparison to most done locally.
After years of totally useless, and doubtless expensive, attempts to fix a drainage problem on Mannings Hill Road, our local 'workers' have dug up the road, abandoned it, and left this important thoroughfare blocked and useless for more than a month, with not the slightest evidence of any work being done.
Please, Prime Minister, ask the Chinese to complete this project as I have no doubt that we would have our road back, permanently repaired, within a week or less.
