Good riddance to Carey Brown
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Carey Brown should have been punished a long time ago. He helped to cost the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) public confidence. He has ruined the reputations of a number of athletes with his myopic vision.
Brown's administration has done unprecedented damaged to some athletes because of faulty conclusions and allegations.
Kaliese Spencer had to quit her pursuit for her first title in the World Champs in London in shame and disgrace. Andre Russell must be singing the songs of Solomon because of the cruelty meted out to him.
Why was Carey Brown so steadfast on punishing the athletes when clearly they were not given prior notice that they would be tested? He seems to be always on a witch-hunt.
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) could never be pleased with the actions undertaken by Mr Brown because JADCO failed to win several recent cases under his watch. As Mr Brown limped out of the system, I say happy riddance to a man who has hurt the reputation of our country.
