We're all in crime fight together

The People's National Party and the Jamaica Labour Party need to view crime, and the potential solutions thereof, as a bipartisan issue. The crime problem has been, conveniently and selectively, used for too long as a political football by both parties.

However, in reality, all of us, to one degree or another, directly or indirectly, are being kicked by the crime monster and, in particular, murder and theft.

ZOSO is a move in the right direction and should be hailed as such by the Opposition. The only persons who qualify to criticise the current crime-fighting plans and policies of the Government are the criminals. Employing a bipartisan approach to fighting crime is one of the most effective ways of defeating this monster. Bickering over numbers and one-upmanship is partisan, petty, pedantic and puerile.
