Traffic nightmare

Published:Saturday | October 7, 2017 | 12:07 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I, too, am distressed about the excessive time and long lines the heavier-than-usual traffic has caused. It is noticeable in more than just the Liguanea area: Cross Roads, Mona Road, Barbican Circle, etc.

Part of the problem is the incoming influx of vehicles entering a main road. Taxis usually speed to the front and indiscriminately butt into the line. (That is another topic, even though this adds tremendously to the problem).

These incoming vehicles block the flow of traffic and causes a deadlock no movement at all.

Police directive required

The police directive here is required. Are there traffic police who can be appointed at certain intervals on our thoroughfares? (We see it done successfully at the intersection of Hope Road and Kingsway (near Devon Road during rush hours).

I'm sure I'm not alone in imploring the police department to intervene. Please help the flow of our daily lives move more smoothly.
