Robbed and dismissed

Published:Tuesday | November 7, 2017 | 12:08 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

For the past several months, thieves have been riding on bikes into Pembroke Hall, St Andrew, and robbing residents.

Just two nights ago, I was held up at gunpoint and robbed. I went to the police station to make a complaint and the police there told me to come back when the officer in charge of the station would be there to take the complaint personally. So, tell me now, what is the purpose of the police who were at the station when I visited?

This kind of foolishness only aids the criminals and criminality. Hard-working people should not be suffering like this when these no-good criminals are thriving.

If this is what Jamaica has come to, it's better I get a licensed gun to protect me and my property. These police are not doing a thing other than drive around and behave like they are above the law.

Well, guess what? You guys are not above the law. You are here to serve, protect and reassure.
