'FrankenNIDS' forebodes database dangers
THE EDITOR, Sir:
That first paragraph of Daniel Thwaites' 'FrankenNIDS' (Sunday Gleaner dated November 19, 2017) has to be the definition of candid and raw - and true. The proposed National Identification System is becoming a national nightmare. The disregard for timely public education and comprehensive sensitisation is an indicator that 'suppm inna suppm'.
Thwaites' usual satirical presentation that causes one to 'teck bad ting meck laugh' did not prevail in this instance in masking the gravity of the proposed undertaking. His article seriously provoked thought and made clear the idea that public outcry cannot be concluded to be an ignorant response.
