Scared of returning to Jamaica
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I am a Jamaican living in the United States. I honestly cannot wrap my head around why it's so hard to curtail crime in Jamaica. The Government needs to be more proactive; it can't be business as usual. This is very disgraceful.
Jamaica needs divine intervention. The corruption must stop. The persons who should be vigilant in stamping out corruption are themselves wrapped up in corruption.
My friend visited Jamaica for Christmas and missed his flight because of the crazy, lawless New Year's party on the airport road. Who is really in charge? Are there NO LAWS in Jamaica?
I am disheartened every time I read Jamaican news. I want to come back to Jamaica, but I am so scared.
