Althea McKenzie's programme on Power 106 yesterday morning highlighted the plight of coffee farmers and the chopping down of coffee plants almost ready for reaping. Her associate bemoaned the encouragement to be more productive in coffee growing while there is no market for it.
The Government can ban the importation of coffee but seem beholden to the coffee importers.
Importing goods provides work for foreign workers. Without adequate jobs, Jamaican workers turn towards crime. Scrap the World Trade Organization and the International Monetary Fund agreements that force us to have free trade. We must say, "Jamaica first!"
